San Andreas, CA…Meet Bolt, a greyhound perhaps Lab mix of about three years of age. Bolt was found wandering by a Good Samaritan who brought him to us. At first shy and timid, Bolt has blossomed and gained some weight as volunteers and staff earned his trust. Bolt walks well on a leash and eagerly takes treats with a soft mouth. He exhibited mixed responses to other shelter dogs, though, so if you have another dog at home, a meet ‘n’ greet will be required. Bolt will also need a home without small animals and a human companion who can provide a loving and reassuring hand. Otherwise gentle and sweet-tempered, we believe he is housebroken since he keeps his kennel clean.

As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Bolt is micro-chipped and up-to-date on his routine vaccinations. He will need to be neutered before going home with you.

Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
