Sonora, CA…Saturday evening, while conducting follow up investigation into previous drug sales and burglary cases from earlier this year, Deputies spotted 47-year-old Shayne Greenway of Sonora, riding a motorcycle in the area of Curtis Circle. Greenway, actively on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS), was believed to be connected to the above-mentioned cases and was also wanted for a local felony warrant. Greenway was accompanied by a passenger, 36-year-old Stacey Elliott of Sonora.
Deputies activated their emergency overhead lights and siren in attempt to conduct a traffic stop on Greenway, but Greenway accelerated away from deputies. A short chase ensued before Greenway pulled into a driveway on Curtis Circle and surrendered.
Once detained, Greenway, Elliott, and the motorcycle were searched. Greenway and Elliott were found to be in possession of nearly two ounces of methamphetamine, almost ten grams of heroin, drug sales related paraphernalia, metal knuckles, a large dagger, .40 caliber handgun ammunition and over seven thousand dollars in cash.
Subsequently, in addition to his warrant, Greenway was arrested for evasion, possession of drugs for sale, conspiracy, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of a concealed weapon, burglary, possession of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Elliott was arrested for possession of drugs for sale, conspiracy, and possession of drugs.
The motorcycle, a 2021 Harley Davidson, was seized as evidence to the burglary and the cash was seized as asset forfeiture.
