San Andreas, CA…In response to increased fire danger and an early fire season, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors at its June 8, 2021 regular meeting voted unanimously to preserve the public peace, health, and safety by adopting an urgency ordinance banning fireworks in Calaveras County through November 30, 2021.

All possession, sale, and use of fireworks is now prohibited in the unincorporated area of the County, unless done in preparation for or performance of a public fireworks display conducted with the written authorization of the relevant fire district chief.

The ordinance goes into effect immediately and will automatically terminate on November 30, 2021.
