Road Closure on Irishtown Road at State Route 88 During Culvert Replacement Project in Pine Grove

Pine Grove, CA… Route 88 Scheduled To Remain Open During Construction. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily
close the intersection of Irishtown Road at State Route 88 to replace a drainage culvert beneath the roadway.

Crews will remove a damaged 8-foot diameter rock-lined culvert and replace it with an 8-foot culvert that meets standards. A headwall, wingwalls and
rock slope protection also will be installed.

The project is scheduled to begin in summer 2021 and end in fall 2021.

One eastbound and one westbound lane of Route 88 will remain open during
construction. Daytime and nighttime work is expected.

Message signs will alert motorists of the road closure and detour routes.

Traffic Detour Plan

For eastbound Route 88 motorists going to Irishtown/Clinton Road:

1. Follow detour along eastbound Route 88 to eastern Irishtown Road intersection.

2. At Route 88 and eastern Irishtown Road, turn right onto Irishtown Road.

For westbound Route 88 motorists going to Irishtown/Clinton Road:

1. Follow detour to eastern intersection of Route 88 and Irishtown Road.

2. At Route 88 and Irishtown Road, turn left, westbound, onto Irishtown Road.

For Clinton/Irishtown Road motorists going to Route 88:

1. Take Irishtown Road to Route 88.

2. At Route 88 and Irishtown Road, turn left, westbound, or right, eastbound, on Route 88.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
