Groveland, CA…On September 15, 2021, at approximately 3:10 pm, a 24-year-old male from Westland, Michigan was driving a 2001 Nissan Altima westbound on State Route 120 near Ferretti Road at a high rate of speed. The driver allowed his vehicle to travel to the right where it left the roadway onto the north shoulder of State Route 120. Before the driver could bring his vehicle back onto the roadway, it crashed into a tree.

After impacting the tree, the vehicle came to rest on its wheels. The driver of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries at the scene. It was determined he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

It is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor. This crash is under investigation and the driver’s name is being held pending family notification.
