Sonora, CA…The Stanislaus National Forest has lost a longtime Groveland resident and career wildland firefighter. Allen Wesley Johnson passed away on Aug. 31, 2021, at the age of 68. The memorial service is on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, 220 Southgate Dr., Sonora, CA at 3:30 pm.

Masks, social distancing, and check-in will be required at the service. There is limited parking at the fairgrounds; off-site parking recommended.

We would like the community to know there is going to be a procession on Sunday, Sept. 26th starting at approx. 1:30 pm at the Columbia Airport and ending at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. If you would like to show support for Allen’s family, friends and all first responders, the procession will be downtown along Washington Street at approximately 1:45 pm.
