Lance is Your Calaveras County Pet of The Week!

San Andreas, CA… Hi Readers! Are you looking for a handsome, affectionate dog who’s looking for love, attention and maybe some obedience classes? Meet Lance!

He pulls on his leash and will need monitored time around other dogs to become better socialized. No info on behavior with cats as yet.

Lance would be a good candidate for some training, and it’s an excellent way to become acquainted with your newly-adopted pet. He does listen and is eager to please. And did I say he is affectionate? And handsome? He is 4 years old and weighs 68 pounds.

There is an excellent chance that Lance is housebroken, since he keeps his kennel clean, but adoptions often come with adjustments to new surroundings.

Lance is being housed and cared for at Calaveras County Animal Services in San Andreas. Come and meet this gentle guy; it will be worth the trip.

As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, he is microchipped and up to date on his routine vaccinations.

Lance will need to be neutered before going home with you.

Come visit Lance, Impound No. A053301, along with the other dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail).

Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday
(closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.).

For more information about this dog, please email kbandy@co.calaveras.ca.us or svavzincak@co.calaveras.ca.us or call Animal Services directly at 754-6509.
Please refer to Lance’s impound number, A053301, when making inquiries. Adoptable animals may also be viewed on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.

Volunteers are very much needed as well. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we would value your help caring for shelter animals or supporting the office. No experience necessary; we will provide training and match you to your interests. Please call 754-6509 for more information.

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!

When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
