Sonora, CA….18-year-old Brian D. Murray was arrested for DUI following an investigation into a solo-vehicle injury collision on Monday. Shortly after 4:00 pm on October 11, we were called to the area of North Washington Street and Wyckoff Street for a collision. When officers arrived, they found that a 2003 silver Ford Ranger had gone through metal fencing on the east roadway edge of Washington Street and over a 7-foot drop-off into the vacant lot below.
Murray was identified as the driver of the pickup. Two juveniles on scene (15 and 17) were identified as passengers. Both passengers received injuries requiring medical attention, but thankfully they were non-life-threatening in nature.
The Ranger was reported to have entered North Washington Street from Wyckoff Street at a high rate of speed. The pickup was seen losing traction and then overcorrecting before going through the fencing.
Murray is suspected of being under the influence of marijuana while driving a motor vehicle. DUI causing injury is a felony charge in California.
“Individuals identified herein were arrested on suspicion of the crimes for which they have been charged. All such charges are merely accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
