Sierra Village, CA…The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is conducting a prescribed burning operation on the Shiloh Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) site. This project is located in Sierra Village in the area of Prospect Drive and Placer Avenue. Smoke may be visible in the area during the prescribed burn. This prescribed burn is designed to reduce forest fuels in strategic locations within the project area and provide live fire training in preparation for the upcoming fire season.

The prescribed burn is scheduled to take place on November 16 through 18, 2021. Additional prescribed burns within the project area are anticipated in the future, depending upon fuel and weather conditions. Resources assigned to the VMP will consist of four engines and one fire crew.

Burning operations will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. contingent on favorable conditions.
