Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! We broke our all time December record for snowfall on Dec 29th at 8am with the new record being 161″. Mattly’s weather forecast for Monday. Another beautiful day filled with sunshine and great riding conditions out on the hill. A high of 27F and continuing SSE winds today in the low 20’s with gusting into the upper 30’s will give way to possible scattered snow showers later this evening. A warm front associated with this system may bring snowfall elevations up to the 7000′ range this evening. Lingering snow showers and gusty winds will also be in effect as the gradient continues to tighten up throughout the week bringing wind values up into the 40-50mph range over the higher peaks and passes. Week two of the New Year has some increasing chances of better snowfall production but that is still a bit far out to be nailed down at this time. Our Mountain Operations Teams have their sights set on the Grizzly Bowl now and Ski Patrol will be conducting avalanche mitigation work down there Starting Sunday………..Stay tuned!
Many laughed at my 400″ season prediction 3 months ago…..let’s hope it still rings true for the season!
Pure Mtn Fun is our ethos so come on up and check us out.
We look forward to skiing and riding with all ya’ll very soon.
Cheers,
Mattly
