San Andreas, CA…Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Team December 28th, 2021. On December 28th, 2021, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served two unrelated search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation in Valley Springs.
The first search warrant was served in the 7000 block of Southworth Road in Valley Springs. The residence at the location had been converted to facilitate indoor marijuana cultivation. Deputies seized 928 growing marijuana plants and over 65 pounds of processed marijuana. The estimated value of the seized marijuana exceeds $1,206,000. No suspects were contacted at the scene. Evidence was collected the investigation is ongoing.
The second search warrant was served in the 8300 block of Crotty Way in Valley Springs. The residence at this location had also been converted to facilitate indoor marijuana cultivation. Deputies seized 729 growing marijuana plants and a few pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated value exceeding $950,000. Investigators noted that mold was present throughout the residence as a result of the growing operation. One suspect was contacted at the scene and issued a citation.
Qicong Huang, age 38 from Richmond, CA, was issued a citation on charges of 11358 (C) H&S Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, 11366.5 (a) H&S Maintaining a Drug House, and 182 (a)(1) PC Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
