Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! We broke our all time December record for snowfall on Dec 29th at 8am with the new record being 161″. Mattly’s weather forecast for Friday. Have I mentioned that the whole lower Mountain will come online today? The village side of the mountain is not too far behind either. What a difference a day makes! This mornings 5am post shows snow survey at 30F, a whopping 15F cooler than yesterday at the same time. With surface gradient influence coupled with the Low over the Great Basin winds look to increase today with average speeds in the upper 20’s and gusting into the mid to upper 30’s. The suggested 38F for the high today will most likely feel way cooler as the winds will influence the daytime temps. Saturday will bring warming temps with the high back around 43F and that looks to continue into the MLK weekend as well. So for now, the dry weather pattern continues for the next 10 days and the hope that the MJO circles back around and helps influence more snowfall come the beginning of February. Winter is far from over Good People and the fact I just bought a new pair of Black Crows Nocta’s means we’ll be shredding pow again in the not so distant future. Stay tuned!
Many laughed at my 400″ season prediction 3 months ago…..let’s hope it still rings true for the season!
Pure Mtn Fun is our ethos so come on up and check us out.
Cheers,
Mattly
