Jamestown, CA…On January 18, 2022, at approximately 5:15pm, 63-year-old Theodore Young of Sonora was driving a 2016 Toyota pickup northbound on State Route 49, south of Chicken Ranch Road, at approximately 45-50 miles per hour. At that same time, 27-year-old Rebekah Gall of Modesto was driving a 2015 Acura sedan southbound on State Route 49 approaching Mr. Young’s location. Mr. Young allowed his vehicle to travel to the left, over the double yellow lines, directly in front of Ms. Gall. As a result, the front of the Toyota struck the front of the Acura.
Ms. Gall sustained serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Doctor’s Medical Center for treatment and Mr. Young was uninjured as a result of the crash. During this investigation, CHP officers determined Mr. Young was driving his vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail where he was booked for Felony DUI charges.
