Alpine County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct tree work next week on State Route 89 in Alpine County. One-way traffic control will be employed from Airport Road to Webster Street beginning Monday, March 7, through Friday, March 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is an Emergency Director’s Order to remove damaged trees caused by winter storms in late December that brought above average snowfall and high wind gusts to the Sierra Nevada. The project will continue until spring 2022.
Motorists should expect 10- minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. Work is scheduled as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues. For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Be Work Zone Alert. For the latest road conditions, visit quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
