Amador COVID-19 News

Amador County, CA…COVID-19 in Amador has decreased to 12 currently active cases in county residents. Active case counts include confirmed lab results and supervised antigen tests but do not includeself-administered home tests. Sutter Amador Hospital currently has 4 patients hospitalized due to COVID. Two are Amador County residents, 2 reside elsewhere. Over the last week, 1 additional COVID death was confirmed: a female in her 80s.

Next week, the local OptumServe COVID testing site hours will change. As of Monday March 21, 2022, the Health and Human Services Building test site will be operating on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7 AM to 3 PM. Please register for this no-cost testing at the lhi.care website or by calling 1 -888-634-1123. OptumServe may accommodate walk-ins on a limited basis. Every household may request two sets of 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests per address by mail, visit: https://www.covidtests.gov/. Anyone with any symptoms, even fully vaccinated individuals, should isolate and test. If you test positive, please follow current self-isolation guidelines and inform your close contacts to self-quarantine. If you have COVID and are at high risk for serious illness, do not delay seeking treatment as it must be started soon after symptoms begin.

As of March 12, 2022, California’s masking requirement in schools and childcare settings moved to a strong recommendation that all persons regardless of vaccine status should continue to wear a mask when indoors. In higher risk settings such as health care facilities, including testing and vaccine clinics, masking continues to be required statewide. The federal requirement for wearing masks on public transportation also continues.
COVID-19 vaccines continue to be offered at no-cost COVID-19 vaccine clinics, located at the Health and
Human Services Building, on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. To make an
appointment visit the myturn.ca.gov website or call 1-833-422-4255. Walk-ins must arrive before 5:30
PM. To schedule an appointment for a homebound individual, call Amador Public Health at (209) 223-
6407. Retail pharmacy COVID-19 vaccination availability may be checked at vaccines.gov.
