Angels Camp, CA…The 37th Annual Calaveras County Science Fair Podcast is brought to you by the Calaveras County Office of Education. Hosts are Scott Nanik, Calaveras County Superintendent of Schools, and Debbie Strand, Coordinator of Communication and Student Events.
The newly formed STEM Advisory Council in Calaveras County awarded $250 cash prizes to each of the four category winners of the 37th Annual Calaveras County Virtual Science Fair (2022). Each winner was asked to present their projects to those that generously donated the money for the prizes.
Public education is an essential component of a strong democratic society and gives our children the tools necessary to become successful members of our community.
There are four school districts in Calaveras County: Calaveras Unified School District, Bret Harte Union High School District, Vallecito Union School District and Mark Twain Union Elementary School District. Each district is unique and does an outstanding job of educating the students in their care. Calaveras County Office of Education also provides a charter school opportunity for students and parents through Mountain Oaks School.
The job of the Calaveras County Office of Education is to support the efforts of our school districts to improve and increase student achievement, to offer professional development for all school staff, and to provide any other support services requested by the districts or required by law.
