Avery, CA…Notice of Provisional Appointment (Pursuant to Education Code Sections 5091 and 5092). NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy in the Vallecito Union School District (“District”) has occurred because Vallecito Union School District Governing Board Member, Tom Pratt, resigned effective February 8, 2022.
On April 20, 2022, the VALLECITO UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD (“Governing Board”) made the Provisional Appointment of Jodi Sledge to fill the above-mentioned vacancy until the November 2022 General Election.
Those requesting a special election must file a petition with the Calaveras County Superintendent of Schools within 30 calendar days of the Governing Board’s April 20, 2022, provisional appointment. If no petition is filed within 30 calendar days of the Governing Board’s provisional appointment, the appointment shall become effective. Any petition for a special election must contain the following number of signatures: (A) If there were more than 2,000 registered voters at the last regular election for (B) Date: 4/22/22 Governing Board members in the District, then: The petition for a special election must be signed by 1 and 1 /2 percent (1.5%) of the number of registered voters of the District at the time of the last regular election for governing board members, or twenty-five (25)
registered voters, whichever is greater.
If there were less than 2,000 registered voters at the last regular election for Governing Board members in the District, then:
