Rancho Calaveras, CA…Calaveras Consolidated Firefighters, CalFire, and San Andreas Fire responded to a report of a residential garage fire with animals trapped inside on Crosel Court in Rancho Calaveras Saturday evening. Calaveras Consolidated Fire arrived and reported a fully-involved detached garage with extension into the vegetation.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire in the garage, prevent the spread of fire to the residence, stop the forward progress in the vegetation and keep it from extending into the hay bales.

This was an “All-Hands” effort by First Responders.

There were no animals in the garage but several chickens were lost in their pens by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
