Calaveras County Contracts with CodeRED to Provide Emergency Notification Services

San Andreas, CA…Calaveras County has implemented the CodeRED system, a high-speed emergency notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based Emergency Communications Network. The CodeRED system is an important tool for Calaveras County emergency planning and communications outreach. By using the system’s capabilities to send telephone calls, text messages, emails and alerts on social media, the County will effectively inform residents and County personnel so as to protect life and property. The Public Safety agencies of Calaveras County will use CodeRED to keep the public notified in the event of an emergency.

CodeRED’s robust system will provide County officials with a reliable, easy-to-use interface to quickly disseminate critical information to our citizens during emergencies. The County anticipates using the system to notify residents in specific geographic locations of fires, floods, public health emergencies, missing children alerts, and other public safety items.

The CodeRED system has been populated with an initial database of residential and business telephone numbers, however all residents living within County limits are encouraged to visit the Calaveras County web page at http:/Calaverasgov.us and click on the CodeRED logo to enroll additional contact information, including cell phone numbers, text and email addresses. No one should automatically assume they are in the emergency contact database.
