Portions of State Route 26 Closed Due to Electra Fire

Amador & Calaveras Counties, CA…State Route 26 from Buckeye Lane to Ridge Road is closed due to the Electra Fire, as of 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. There is no ETO. Motorists are advised to avoid the area for their safety and to allow emergency crews to respond. The Electra Fire started at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2022, at Electra Road and Route 49, southeast of Jackson in Amador County and has crossed over into Calaveras County. The fire had burned more than 3,000 acres and was 0 percent contained as of Tuesday, July 5, 2022, according to Cal Fire.

Evacuations are in effect in the following areas:
• In Amador County for a two-mile radis around Lake Tabeau, including Amador Lane, Fig Tree Lane, Ponderosa Way, Clinton Road, and Tabeau Road at Clinton Bar Road.
• In Calaveras County, north of Route 26 from Montgomery Drive to Lower Dorray Road.

Roads are closed to traffic entering those areas.
