Jamestown Man Loses Life in Hwy 120 Collision

Jamestown, CA…On September 22, 2022, at approximately 4:00pm, a 73-year-old man from Jamestown was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on State Route 120, just west of Rushing Hills Lookout Road at an undetermined rate of speed. The driver failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway and drove into an ascending dirt embankment on the left shoulder.

The vehicle traveled out of control, across both eastbound lanes of traffic and overturned onto the right shoulder where it came to rest on its left side. The driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.

This crash is still under investigation and the driver’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
