Major Injuries To Glencoe Man In Hwy 26 Head On Collision

West Point, CA…On February 1, 2016, at approximately 1050 hours, a 64 year old Glencoe man was driving his 2013 Scion FRS eastbound on SR-26 west of Deardorff Road at approximately 40 MPH. A 66 year old West Point man was driving his 2002 Ford Ranger westbound on SR-26 west of Deardorff Road at approximately 55 MPH. The Glencoe man diverted his attention from the road and allowed his vehicle to cross over the double yellow lines, directly into the path of the West Point man’s vehicle.

The vehicles collided head on and came to rest blocking both lanes of SR-26. After the collision, The Glencoe man was transported by ground ambulance and then flown by helicopter to Modesto Memorial Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. The West Point man sustained minor injuries but declined to be transported to the hospital.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered a factor in this collision.
