Oakley Man Returns to Arnold to Say Thank You to Firefighters who Saved His Life

Arnold, CA…We felt the need to go and meet some of the wonderful Ebbetts Pass Fire Department and Cal Fire firefighters and paramedics who helped me survive my cardiac arrest on May 1st. There are many others who weren’t there today who we’d also like to shake hands with and say a ‘thank you’ in person someday. It’s been 6 months.

The original incident….EPFD and Cal Fire responded to a 50 year old having chest pain, at the White Pines OHV park. While enroute to the scene, units were advised that CPR was in progress. Two off-duty firefighters were in the area riding motorcycles and started hands only CPR. EPFD medics arrived and started providing Advance Life Support care. Firefighters where able to get pulses and spontaneous respirations back before transporting the patient to the White Pines ball field. PHI Med 42 then Transported the Patient by air to a valley hospital.
