Murphys, CA…On February 4 at approximately 2:45pm a 79 year old Murphys man was driving his 2002 Ford Ranger on Hwy 4 eastbound west of Ponderosa Way. A 37 year old Murphys woman was driving her 2015 BMW westbound just east of Ponderosa Way. Due to her intoxication she made a series of unsafe turning movements which ultimately caused her vehicle to veer left from the westbound lane.

The BMW crossed over the double yellow lines and into the oncoming lane. The her BMW collided with the Ford causing major damage to both vehicles. The man sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collison and was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center.

The woman was uninjured but fled the scene and was later located at her residence where she was arrested for felony DUI and Felony Hit & Run.
