Angels Camp, CA…On November 9, 2022 at approximately 0617 hours, CHP San Andreas Area received a call from Stockton Communications Center (SCC) of an overturned vehicle off the west side of the roadway of SR-49 near Fourth Crossing Road. It was determined the crash occurred at an unknown time during the night prior. It appears the vehicle was traveling southbound on SR-49 for an unknown reason the deceased, drove off the right side of the roadway and down a small embankment. The vehicle overturned, crashed through a fence, and came to rest on its side in a field. The driver sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

It is believed the driver was utilizing the legally required safety restraint during the time of the collision. The cause of this collision is under investigation.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor in this collision.
