Harold Hampton 1934 – 2022

Angels Camp, CA…Harold Hampton was born on June 19th 1934 in Barber Arkansas and passed away December 13th 2022 in Sonora. He moved to California in 1952 with his brother Edward where he drove a backhoe for 25 years and worked for the Alameda County water district. He met the love of his life Glenda Ballard in Niles and they were happily married December 13th 1958. They had three children, Jim, Cheryl, and Troy and lived in Fremont until they moved to Altaville in 1975.

He also worked as a maintenance man for the Murphys Hotel for 30 years. Harold was known to have owned many classic cars throughout his life as well as staying busy up until the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his wife Glenda, daughter Cheryl, brother Ed, sister Faye, brother Lynn, brother Neal, and his parents James Walter Hampton and Lona Holland.

He leaves behind his two sons Jim and Troy, six grandchildren Jimi, Gatlin, Rachel, Ross, Emma, and Garrett, as well as three great grandchildren, Jorgan, Brighten, and Owen, and many nephews and nieces A celebration of life will be held in 2023, with dates and place to follow.
