Traffic Update….Downed Tree Blocking Lanes on Wade Lane

Valley Springs, CA…This evening on Wade Lane between the Burned Store and the Gate. At approximately 7:45 PM, a caller reported that a tree had fallen, blocking the roadway. The caller, who was the security officer for the area, requested assistance.

At 7:46 PM, a unit was dispatched to the scene to assess the situation. Upon arrival, it was determined that the tree was indeed blocking the roadway and posing a traffic hazard.

At 7:57 PM, the caller updated the dispatch center, stating that a vehicle with its lights on was stopped in the area, possibly for a disabled vehicle or an accident. A second unit was dispatched to the scene to assist.

At the same time, the dispatch center received a request for assistance from the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The CHP requested that the units check for any fallen power lines in the area, as the tree may have caused damage to them.

The units on scene were able to clear the tree from the roadway and assess the situation. No accidents or injuries were reported, and no damage to power lines was found. The scene was cleared and the units returned to their respective stations.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of falling trees, particularly during storms or strong winds. It is important to always be aware of your surroundings and to exercise caution while driving, especially in areas with a high risk of falling debris.
