Wallace, CA…At approximately 1144 hours, 49-1 (Officer Butzler) was dispatched to a two vehicle collision on CA Highway 12 at Wards Avenue, near the area of Wallace, CA. Another Officer responded from the San Andreas Area office.

For an unknown reason, XXXX, the registered owner and driver of the 2001 Ford Taurus, while traveling E/B Highway 12, drove P-1 to the dirt right shoulder, then steered the Taurus back onto Highway 12 E/B, crossed the solid double yellow center lines of the roadway, and caused a broadside collision with a 1999 Buick Park Avenue. The driver of Park Avenue suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Taurus sustained major injuries and was flown by air ambulance to U.C. Davis Hospital in Sacramento CA. The passenger of the Ford, XXXX, sustained fatal injuries.

The driver was arrested on-scene for 23153 VC and flown to UC Davis soon thereafter.
