Sonora, CA…The Sonora Police Department, Tuolumne County Sheriffs Office, and multiple other agencies are at Sonora High School investigating a report of shots heard near the campus. So far we have not been able to identify a known threat or confirm the source of what was heard. At this point there are no known injuries to any students or staff. Out of an abundance of caution we are systematically, checking the school grounds and surrounding areas. We will release more information when it is known about student release.

Students and staff will remain locked down for a bit longer. School administration is working on a plan to safely release students when we give the all clear. Thank you for your patience while we work through this.
