Murphys, CA…Once again, the Angels-Murphys Rotary Club, partnering with Cal-Waste Recovery Systems, has helped bring secure document and electronics destruction services to their community. The club held a hugely successful Shred Fest on Saturday, April 22, which was also Earth Day. On a sunny weekend morning, 104 cars brought 387 boxes (more than 7,000 pounds!) of paper to be shredded, along with 66 electronic items. And no one even had to leave their car!
Open to Calaveras residents only, the event was very well attended. Locals seemed delighted with the opportunity to clean out their closets and garages, enjoy some refreshments and socialize with the community.
Recycle bins were generously provided by Cal-Waste, with Shred City of Shingle Springs performing shredding services. Coffee was generously donated by Murphys’ own Gold Country Roasters and signage by Swift Signs.
Our generous community donated $1,885, showing their appreciation and community spirit. All donations will be matched by the Angels-Murphys Rotary Club, and go toward Common Ground Senior Services for their local Meals on Wheels program.
Got stuff to shred or recycle? We’ll be back. Angels-Murphys Rotary plans to sponsor this event every year. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 20, 2024!
