Wear Your Green To The St. Patrick’s Day Mixer At Murphys Hotel

Murphys, CA…The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce its next mixer will be hosted by the Murphys Historic Hotel located at 457 Main Street in Murphys. This event will take place on Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17 from 5:30 PM till 7:00 PM. The Murphys Hotel was first opened in 1856 and was known for many years as the Sperry & Perry Hotel. The hotel thrived as the stopover for stagecoaches en route from the railhead at Milton to the Calaveras Big Trees. Popular guests who stayed at the Murphys Hotel during its early years include Mark Twain, Thomas J. Lipton, J.P. Morgan, and former President Ulysses S. Grant. Copies of the original registration signatures may be viewed today in the hotel’s lobby.
