Residential Structure Fire Yesterday Afternoon in Wallace

Wallace, CA…Firefighters from Calaveras Consolidated, Clements, CalFire, and San Andreas Fire responded with heavy fire conditions in the home and spreading to the vegetation. Working in 95-degree heat, firefighters extinguished the well-involved house fire and vegetation fire which was just under an acre.

Two family pets (dogs) were rescued by firefighters and returned to family members. The home’s contents were a total loss, and Red Cross was on the scene assisting the displaced family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
