Lake Alpine, CA…It takes a lot more than removing snow to safely reopen the mountain passes. Here we see crews removing mud and debris from SR-4/Ebbetts Pass in Alpine County. The Camp Connell and Woodfords maintenance teams are making great progress and are near the summit on one side and at postmile 6.4 near Cape Horn on the other.  There is a lot of work remaining and our intrepid crews are working every day as safely and expeditiously as possible. SR-4 remains closed from the east end of Lake Alpine to Wolf Creek.
