Calaveras County Seeks Community Input for Future Broadband Deployment

San Andreas, CA…County staff are asking residents and business owner for 10 minutes of their time in completing and submitting an anonymous survey regarding broadband. The survey will help in the allocation of state funds to Calaveras County for deployment of broadband internet infrastructure throughout the County.

Under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, $62 billion was allocated for broadband investment across the United States. In order to receive individual allocations, each state must implement a comprehensive engagement effort that seeks input from residents and incorporates that input into a State Plan. The more input received, the more likely the State and Calaveras County will receive federal dollars to deploy broadband infrastructure and establish digital equity.

To date only 31 surveys have been received for Calaveras County. In order to meet the California Department of Technology’s criteria in the development of the state’s digital equity portion of the state plan, community engagement efforts require at least 250 residents from each rural county. Surveys must be completed by June 30, 2023.

Help make a difference for your community.
Please help us achieve this goal so we can maximize the amount of federal broadband money that California – and Calaveras County – can and should receive. See the survey link below.
