Mokelumne Hill, CA…One of the best 4th of July experiences in our area is 4th of July in Mokelumne Hill! Small town Americana is alive and well and thriving in this historic mining town. The center piece is the annual 4th of July Parade but the whole day is memories waiting to be made including an old fashioned community pancake breakfast to start the day. We checked off our list of parade prerequisites…Beauty Queens, Veterans in Historic Jeeps, Classic Cars, Saddle Queens, Fire Trucks, Horse Entries, Community Floats, Grand Marshalls & More were all there! Too top it off the final float was the rock band the Cool Shifters which stopped on main street for entertainment and dancing. There was even a celebrity siting as Lightning McQueen was there for the whole day! Mokelumne Hill & the Mokelumne Hill Lions club know how to run a parade.
