Copperopolis, CA…On July 5th, 2023, at approximately 11:56 a.m., deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Probation officers from the Calaveras County Probation Department, conducted a probation compliance check at a residence in Copperopolis, CA.

During the course of the compliance check, law enforcement personnel discovered an individual who was prohibited from possessing firearms in possession of two handguns and a shotgun. The individual found in illegal possession of these firearms was not the probationer.

The suspect, 37 year old Allen Ray Scrivner of Copperopolis, was promptly arrested by deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail and is facing felony charges of illegally possessing firearms and ammunition.

This case is still under investigation.
