Missing Swimmer Recovered from Lake Don Pedro

La Grange, CA…The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Marine Safety and Enforcement Unit recovered a man’s body in Lake Don Pedro more than a month after the victim went missing. On June 16th, Jorge Arturo Cervantes disappeared after he went swimming without a life jacket. Immediately following the incident, the Tuolumne County Sheriffs Marine Safety and Enforcement Unit initiated a search operation. Because of the depth and lake conditions, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, the California Office of Emergency Services (OES), Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office joined the search efforts.

Despite our best efforts, searchers could not find Mr. Cervantes. The Cervantes family sought assistance from the experienced teams at California Recovery Divers and Ralston Underwater Search and Recovery. Last week, the TCSO Marine Safety and Enforcement Unit, along with California Recovery Divers and Ralston Underwater Search and Recovery, found Cervantes’ body.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank OES, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office , the @Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office ,, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office , @California Recovery Divers and Ralston Underwater Search and Recovery. We also would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Cervantes family.
