The Pine Top Boogie Band is First Fridays Concert in the Park!

Murphys, CA…The annual First Friday Concert in the Park series, hosted by Murphys Community Club, will continue with the Pine Top Boogie Band who are not strangers to our area playing at Brice Station, The Lube Room and Ironstone and are sure to bring some great energy! The Pine Top Boogie Band is a collection of seasoned musicians who rock their own special styles, Boogie Woogie, Blues, Country and Soul. Cody Newsome on keyboard puts the Boogie Woogie in the band, Debbie Patterson adds the sweet country vocals, acoustic guitar and bass, Jerry Patterson plays bass, harmonica and sings the Blues and Jeff Chadwick on drums and vocals with soul and Mark Furtado on guitar to hold it all together!

From June to September, First Fridays in the Park have featured performances by a variety of musical groups playing by the familiar Gazebo starting at 5:30 p.m. Friends and neighbors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy a small town America gathering in the cool confines of Murphys Community Park.

The Park’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) permit prohibits the bringing of wine or liquor into the Park but wine and beer will be available with the proceeds going to the Murphys Community Club and back to the Park. Each event will have a community sponsor with Murphys Irish Pub and Proper Pruning sponsoring this August 4th concert and The V Bistro will be cookin up bratwurst on a hoagie bun with sauerkraut, potato salad all the fixins and watermelon all for $15.

Our First Friday concert series will conclude on September1st featuring a local favorite, Cantamos with catering by Murphys Historic Hotel. The Park will also be the site for the Calaveras Arts Council’s Music in the Parks performance August 2nd starting at 6:30. Murphys Community Club will again host the second year of Oktoberfest in Murphys Park on October 14th. There is no admission charge and ample free parking available nearby. Donations to help maintain the Park are always gratefully received.

Murphys Community Park is located on Algiers Street in historic downtown Murphys. Membership in the Murphys Community Club is open to everyone and contributions are tax deductible.
