San Andreas, CA…On Friday, July 28th, at approximately 1:00 am, a Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Saint Charles Street in San Andreas. During the stop, it was discovered that the vehicle’s driver, Mario Berumen-Rose (age 36 and resident of Auburn, CA), had an outstanding felony warrant. Deputies searched the vehicle, which led to the discovery of a firearm, illegal narcotics, and drug paraphernalia. Berumen-Rose and the passenger, Amy Ronnigen (age 46 and resident of Cool, CA), are prohibited from possessing firearms and were subsequently arrested. This case is still under investigation.
Mario Berumen-Rose was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possessing a controlled substance while armed, and illegally possessing ammunition.
Amy Ronnigen was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of being in possession of ammunition while prohibited, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office will continue actively pursuing individuals with outstanding warrants and those involved in criminal activities, especially those unlawfully possessing firearms.
