Copperopolis, CA…On August 11, 2023, at approximately 1909 hours, the California Highway Patrol was dispatched to a head-on collision on SR-4 near Telegraph Drive. Party #1 (Pending) was driving Vehicle #1 (Honda) eastbound on SR-4 at a high rate of speed. Party #2 (Tran) was driving Vehicle #2 (Lexus) westbound on SR-4 at approximately 60 mph. As the two vehicles approached one another, P-1 drove V-1 into the westbound lane for an unknown reason, directly into the path of V-2. The two vehicles collided head-on in the westbound lane and came to rest blocking the roadway. As a result, all three occupants of V-1 sustained fatal injuries. The collision is still under investigation.
