San Andreas, CA…Grants to provide critical assistance delivering services addressing health needs. Dignity Health – Mark Twain Medical Center is inviting local non-profit organizations to consider applying for grants that support the delivery of services vital to improving health and well-being, and improving health equity. The application period opened July 17 and runs through September 8, 2023. Successful applicants will be announced in November for projects conducted between January and December 2024.
This opportunity is part of the CommonSpirit Health Community Health Improvement Grants program. Mark Twain Medical Center is part of CommonSpirit Health, which was created in 2019 when Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health came together to create a national health system.
The grant program is focused specifically on significant needs identified in the Mark Twain Medical Center’s most recent community health needs assessment. The hospital conducts a need assessment every three years to help it and community partners identify and address priority health and social needs faced by residents and the region. Mark Twain Medical Center is accepting proposals that address access to healthcare, housing, homelessness and mental health.
CJ Singh, the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Philanthropy at Mark Twain Medical Center says “Utilizing our resources to address crucial local health issues is of utmost importance to us, and these grants exemplify our dedication to making a positive impact. We believe that collaborating with community organizations is integral to improving community health. While hospitals and healthcare play a significant role, enhancing overall well-being requires a diverse range of programs and services working together in harmony.”
Applications for grants of greater than $20,000 must include collaborating partner organizations helping to deliver services, while partners are encouraged but not required for smaller grants.Interested organizations can learn more about the grant program, including eligibility criteria, how to apply, and a local contact for questions, by visiting https://www.commonspirit.org/communitygrants.
