San Andreas, CA…Richard “Rick” Dell Rider died at home on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick was born in November of 1949 to Harold and Dean Rider in San Mateo, CA. Rick led an exciting life in his early years and was an avid Grateful Dead follower. Rick moved to San Andreas in 1984, where he worked in sales at a motorcycle shop before becoming the lead custodian at Toyon Middle School. Rick worked at Toyon for 16 years, until he was diagnosed in the summer of 2015.

Rick was predeceased by his parents and siblings and is survived by his longtime friend Pearl Bizer. In lieu of a service, please consider making a donation to your local Humane Society or Hospice program in Rick’s name.
