Angels Camp, CA…On August 28, 2023, the Calaveras County Board of Education (CCBE) appointed Doug Baughn the new trustee for Area 3 to serve on the board of education after the recent retirement of long-time board member Valerie Tudor. Baughn’ provisional appointment will run through December 2024.

He brings with him a wealth of experience after 33 years in education as a 4th grade teacher, a principal, director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. Baughn stated “It has been my desire to give back our wonderful community and consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the students and staff in Area 3.” Trustee Area 3 serves Arnold, Avery, Camp Connell, Dorrington, Douglas Flat, Hathaway Pines, Murphys, Tamarack, and White Pines.
