Angels Camp, CA… Carmel Frances Ehret 3-22-1935 to 9-21-1923. Carmel Ehret passed away unexpectedly at age 88 on September 21 at the Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas. Carmel was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from Notre Dame High School. Carmel was proud of the ten years she worked as a Payroll Technician for the US Forest Service at the Summit Ranger Station in Pinecrest on the Stanislaus National Forest, raising her two girls there.
Carmel loved living in snow country and had a VW Beetle car that she said could get through the snowiest of storms. After leaving Pinecrest, Carmel went to work in the office at an Air Force Recruitment Center in the Santa Rosa area. Carmel loved to read books, especially the classic novels. She delighted in finding classic novels at thrift stores. After her home burned in the Paradise Fire, she moved to Angels Camp.
Carmel is preceded in death by her two daughters, Susanne Johnson and Lynn Ehret-Montgomery and her parents Frank and Lenor Leach. Carmel is survived by her sisters Florence Furlong of San Jose and Maurine Baker of Modesto. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Masses will be offered for the repose of her soul on October 18th and 19th at 8:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Angels Camp.
