Vintage Home & Garden Sale – The old “Italian Store” in Douglas Flat is opened twice a year to showcase and sell the unique treasures carefully gathered throughout the year. April 16, 2016 – Mr. Frog’s Wild Ride – The Wild Ride of approximately 50K and the Wilder Ride of approximately 100K, will take riders through the county’s verdant countryside at the height of the wildflower season.Both routes begin and end at Feeney Park where all participants can enjoy an after-ride chicken-in-a-barrel barbeque, or vegetarian meal, included in the $60 registration fee. April 16, 2016 -Sierra Nevada Film Festival AT NEWSOME-HARLOW WINERY – Four young cowboys train a string of wild mustangs and set out on a 3,000 mile journey from Mexico to Canada, hoping to bring attention to protecting and adopting the nation’s wild horses in tonight’s film “Unbranded.” Forging a route where there isn’t one through the West’s wildest terrain, the friends overcome daunting obstacles with grit, humor and the extraordinary stamina and strength of their mustangs. This film was the Audience Favorite at four separate festivals, including Telluride and Nevada City. Come to Newsome-Harlow for wine tasting, good company, and this great film. No admission charge. A portion of wine sales goes to support Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch. Doors open at 7:00pm for excellent wine and hors d’euvres; film begins about 8:00.
