San Andreas, CA…On November 10, 2023, at approximately 8:30 PM, deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle along East Saint Charles St., in San Andreas. During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered that the driver, 40-year-old Steven Starky of Manteca, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Further investigation revealed Starkey to be in possession of a loaded 9 mm handgun, along with drug sales paraphernalia.

Seized from the vehicle were over 19 ounces of hashish, over 6 pounds of processed marijuana, and a small amount of psilocybin (Mushrooms) and methamphetamine.

Starkey is legally prohibited from possessing any firearms and was taken into custody without incident.  He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, and illegal possession of a firearm.
