San Andreas, CA…Dignity Health Mark Twain Medical Center is proud to announce its inclusion in Becker’s Healthcare’s list of the top 350 hospitals in the nation, and a remarkable achievement of being ranked among the top 7 hospitals in the state for nurse communication.
Becker’s Healthcare, a leading source of business and legal information for healthcare industry
leaders, compiled this list based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers
and Systems (HCAHPS) data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The
evaluation focused on nurse communication, a critical aspect of patient care, which
encompasses how well patients feel that their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully,
and treated them with courtesy and respect.
The nurse communication star rating, derived from three key HCAHPS survey questions,
provides a comprehensive measure of patient satisfaction. Mark Twain Medical Center’s
exceptional performance in these areas has earned the institution a place among the nation’s
best.
The star rating is a culmination of survey data collected from hospital patients throughout the
calendar year 2022, and the figures were recently released on November 8th via CMS’ Provider
Data Catalog.
“We are honored to be recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the top hospitals in the
nation and state for nurse communication,” said Doug Archer, President and CEO of Mark
Twain Medical Center. “This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering
high-quality patient care and emphasizes the dedication of our nursing staff to ensuring clear
communication, attentive listening, and respectful treatment.”
Mark Twain Medical Center remains committed to its mission to provide outstanding healthcare
services, and this acknowledgment by Becker’s Healthcare reinforces its position as a
healthcare leader in the community.
