Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! 1″ of new snow fell overnight bringing our season total for natural snowfall up to 12″. Warm air overnight coupled with cloud cover gave way to temps rising to the 31F mark just a few hours ago and stifled the ability of the system to produce more than one inch for us. Today the temps looks to hover right around 32F with a SSE wind from 6-8mph. Later in the afternoon there is a 20% chance of a few more snow showers before the system squeezes its way East and high pressure ridging charges in behind it.
With snow levels currently hovering around 7500′ today, we expect to see less than 1/4-1/2″ fall this evening. The upper level ridge will gradually amplify this evening ushering warming temps and dry weather into Wednesday mid-morning. Wednesday evening, yet another short wave trough will attempt to bring some snowfall to the Bear Valley area, but I’ll keep an eye on that progression and have a better handle on what may fall in a few days.
Keep checking back in for current updates as well as some general STOKE for skiing & riding to begin as THE BEAR IS BACK!!!!!
Peace Out,
Mattly
