Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! We are now open 7days a week for the rest of the season! Lite, mixed precipitation is currently falling at the resort as the system begins to unfold. The high today looks to be 40F with winds increasing as the surface gradients tighten up. South winds will be in the 20mph range today with gusting reaching up into the 30’s. Water totals for the next few days may reach up into the 3-4″ range as warm temperatures aloft will dictate snowfall production as well as elevations. I’m hoping the some of the micro climates around the resort will see more snowfall than just mixed precipitation but we’ll have to wait and see.

Initially snow looks to remain above the 8000′ mark through Tuesday then dropping down to the 6500′ elevation mark bringing a possible 4-8″ of new snow by late Wednesday evening. Things may get a bit cooler and allow a few more inches to fall so we will have to wait and see how things develop over the next 36hrs. Thursday through the weekend, snow showers look to be present yet lite totals for that time-frame are expected as the trough of Central and Southern California will allow a weak short wave to produce but again this mornings models show a lessening of sorts so fingers crossed that temperatures drop a bit and force the hand of Mother Nature to produce.
