San Andreas, CA…On December 18, 2023, at about 2:20 a.m. Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to reports of a Burglary in progress in the 6000 block of Cedar Springs Road in Mountain Ranch, CA. The victim stated he observed three subjects in a dark-colored SUV towing his trailer away from the residence.
While deputies were responding, the victim reported that he had begun driving in the area looking for the suspects when he observed headlights down a one-way road. He drove to the location where the headlights were coming from and observed the suspect SUV and his trailer. The victim told the suspect that he had notified the Sheriff’s Office, which prompted the suspect to remove the trailer and drive off.
Upon the deputies arrival, the victim explained he had returned home after being gone for several days. While driving down his driveway, the victim observed three suspects loading tools from inside his residence into his trailer. He attempted to block the driveway to prevent them from leaving. However, the suspects were able to drive around him to escape. The suspects were out of sight by the time the victim was able to turn around to follow. Deputies collected all the necessary information and evidence and initiated an investigation.
Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation that led to the positive identification of suspect Robert Patrick Jarrell, 34-year-old from San Andreas, as being involved in the burglary. Detectives were able to secure an active felony arrest warrant issued by the Calaveras County Superior Court for burglary and possession of stolen property.
On December 22, 2023, Deputies arrived at a residence in the 1000 block of Highway 49, San Andreas, to arrest suspect Jarrell. After multiple announcements, the Deputies were allowed to check the residence. After failing to locate suspect Jarrell, the Deputies believed he had run out the back of the residence upon their arrival. They began checking the area, eventually locating Jarrell at the end of Magers Way in San Andreas. Jarrell was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
